• Advanced CFD and Turbulence Modelling Targeting HPC

  • Date: October 3rd - 5th, 2018.

  • Place: The course will take place in Barcelona Supercomputing Center, within the UPC Campus Nord premises. Vertex Building, Room VS211

  • Is aimed at researchers who wish to gain a better understanding of methodologies and best practices in exploiting CFD and turbulence modelling applications on HPC systems.

• PATC: Parallel Programming Workshop

  • Date: October 15th - 19th, 2018

  • Place: The course will take place in Barcelona Supercomputing Center, within the UPC Campus Nord premises. Vertex Building, Room VS208

  • The objectives of this course are to understand the fundamental concepts supporting message-passing and shared memory programming models. The course covers the two widely used programming models: MPI for the distributed-memory environments, and OpenMP for the shared-memory architectures. The course also presents the main tools developed at BSC to get information and analyze the execution of parallel applications, Paraver and Extrae.

• PATC: Earth Sciences Simulation Environments

  • Date: November 27th - 29th, 2018

  • Place: The course will take place in Barcelona Supercomputing Center, within the UPC Campus Nord premises. Vertex Building, Room VS208

  • The objective of this PATC course is to cover the basics of a high performance computing (HPC) environment oriented towards earth science applications, specifically chemical weather modelling and climate modelling.

The courses are free of charge and are in English.
