Image

The Soft Computing research group (SOCO) is formed by members of the Department of Computer Science.

The main group’s objective is to take advantage of methodologies that conform the soft computing area, as well as investigate their possible hybridizations with the objective to improve the performance and reliability. The goal is the application of developed methodologies to real problems in areas such as medicine, ecology, e-learning…

Main research lines are:

  • Supervised and unsupervised neural Networks
  • Fuzzy systems
  • Genetic Algorithms and Evolutive Strategies
  • Support Vector Machines
  • Feature Selection and Extraction
  • Pattern Recognition and Computer Vision
  • Data and Knowledge Visualization
